PIP (Personal Independence Payment)

You can claim PIP in addition to other benefits.

 

 

AA (Attendance Allowance) if you've received State Pension age, and your ability to keep safe or look after your own personal care is affected by physical or mental illness or disability.

Universal Credit is a payment to help with your living costs and replaces the following benefits:

  • JSA Income-based Jobseekerís Allowance is a taxable benefit to support people who are actively looking for work.

 

State Pension is a regular income paid to people who have reached State Pension age.

Carerís Allowance is to help you look after someone with substantial caring needs. You donít have to be related to, or live with, the person you care for.

 

You must be 16 or over and spend at least 35 hours a week caring for them. Carerís Allowance is taxable. It can also affect your other benefits. The person youíre looking after must be receiving certain benefits.

Council Tax Support if youíre on a low income or claim benefits. Your bill could be reduced by up to 100%. You can apply if you own your home, rent, are unemployed or working.

Mortgage Interest Support if youíre a homeowner, you might be able to get help towards interest payments on:

  • your mortgage

  • loans youíve taken out for certain repairs and improvements to your home.  To be eligible for a Support for Mortgage Interest (SMI) loan, you usually need to be getting one of the following qualifying benefits:

  • (JSA) Income-based Jobseekerís Allowance

  • (ESA) Income-related Employment and Support Allowance

  • Pension Credit

  • Savings Credit is an extra payment for people who saved some money towards their retirement, for example a pension.  You may not be eligible for Savings Credit if you reached State Pension age on or after 6 April 2016.
